The Apapane is another bird found only on the Hawaiian Islands. It mainly feeds on nectar. This is one of only a few adults I saw during my trip. I saw many more juvenile birds which do not have the bright red plumage of the adult. Taken in the Hosmer Grove area in Haleakala National Park on Maui.
