Canna Beleave the Colors by holmesidepi

Nature

Beautiful variegated canna leaves show off their jewel tones as they are backlit by the sun, Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, Fort Worth, Texas. If you are curious about the title, it’s not misspelled, but is a word play on “Cannot believe” as spoken with my mother’s Scottish accent.

Gary Holmes, photographer: I have always loved to photograph nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. I prefer the challenge of trying to capture the unpredictable spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring. I started with a Kodak Brownie as a child, but entered the world of real photography with a Canon AE-1 in the late 1970’s. I have successfully sold a number of my photographs on Fine Art America, and have been recognized in international photography venues. My photo, “Blue Norther,” was selected by the nonprofit Texas Bluebird Society for its 2010 membership announcements. My most requested photo, “Rowers’ Arc,” was selected as an Editors’ Choice on 500px, as well as a 5-star Editor’s Choice designation in Camerapixo’s Hot Shots photo magazine, Volume 4 (http://ift.tt/1t5bO5U). It has now been published on page 121 in a new book, Camerapixo Photography Awards, Volume 01 (http://ift.tt/1FLJwDo). I will continue to post my very best works on Fine Art America (http://ift.tt/1q95W9A) and 500px (http://ift.tt/1mxeYaj), as time permits. If you see something you like but the available purchase options are not what you desire, you may contact me through 500px or Fine Art America, or directly at holmesidepi@yahoo.com, and I will try to arrange something else for you.
