Nature’s Spotlight by John Cothron

This waterfall is located on the Raven Cliff Falls trail in White County Georgia just north of Helen. I have christened them "Maidenhair Falls" as they have no other name to my knowledge and research. They are somewhat difficult to reach off the side of the Raven Cliff Falls Trails approximately 1.5 miles from the trailhead.

Photography in the mountains can be a challenge. Because of the steep slopes, the right "light" isn’t always when you think it would normally be. Even when you think you have it figured out weather can wreak havoc on your well-conceived plans. This is one of my favorite waterfalls in north Georgia, and as I recall…one of my earlier attempts to be there when the light was right. It was pretty harsh in fact, but I do like the way they were pinpointed for just a moment.
