This flower is a dessert plant, called an Adenium (a flowering plant in the dogbane family). It is growing at the side of my parent’s house in southwest Florida. Apparently, this "rose of the desert" is an extremely poisonous plant. The sap of the Adenium plants were used by native hunters to dip their arrows tips in. I think it is healthy to admire this beauty from a distance.
